A new generation of warriors is heading into battle! Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers released a new video today, showcasing the heroes of the sequel in a new creditless version of the anime's opening. It will have been 25 years since the last volumes of the original series' final OVA, Yoroiden Samurai Trooper: Message , released in Japan in 1991. Yoichi Fujita ( Gintama , Mr. Osomatsu ) is attached to direct Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers at Bandai Namco Filmworks’ brand Sunrise, with Kamen Rider Build head writer Shogo Muto in charge of series composition. Yuhei Murota ( Love Live! ) provides the character designs. Hideo Okamoto, armor designer for the original Samurai Troopers series, returns to continue his work on the new show's "Yoroigear." The new anime series is set to premiere on January 6, 2026 in Japan. Crunchyroll currently streams the original Samurai Troopers anime, describing the series as such: Long ago, there existed an evil spirit that waged a war to conquer the human world.
