KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE'S official YouTube channel is now streaming a music video for a newly-covered version of "Kyo no Hi wa Sayonara" ("Goodbye for Today") sung by Yoko Takahashi for her upcoming album "EVANGELION FLASHBACK." Yoko Takahashi "Kyo no Hi wa Sayonara" Music Video "Kyo no Hi wa Sayonara" was originally written and composed by Japanese lyricist and composer Shoichi Kaneko in 1966 with the aim of deepening the friendships among young people. The song was covered by Ryoko Moriyama in the following year as the B-side song for her third single "Koi wa Mizuiro," and also covered by Rei Ayanami voice actor Megumi Hayashibara for the 2009 film Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance . The song is also a nostalgic piece from Takahashi's childhood days with the Tokyo Takinogawa Boys and Girls Choir Group. Takahashi herself performed the piano in this new cover version, with the chorus featuring both current members of the choir group and alumni members.
