A theatrical anime film entitled We Are Aliens ( Wareware wa Uchuujin in Japanese) was announced today for release in 2026. A teaser trailer and teaser art have been published for the film. A crowdfunding campaign to support the development of the film has also been launched. The story of We Are Aliens follows two friends, Tsubasa and Gyotaro, who meet in the summer of their third year as elementary school students. Inseparable at first, their friendship is disrupted by a trivial incident, only for them to reunite some 30 years later in a journey that subtly questions the meaning of life.
