The team explains, “Currently, there are several Drive-In Theatres for sale across the country due to owners retiring; and many more Drive-Ins will be for sale over the next few years as more owners seek to retire. We wish to maintain these locations as Drive-Ins and to that end, we are hoping to raise awareness for those who are interested in Drive-In ownership.”
The new website contains both a list of Drive-Ins for sale as well as information about Drive-In ownership. They are also making other resources available to future Drive-In owners, including hosting “DRIVE-IN CON” in November 2025, a convention for future Drive-In owners and fans. The convention will promote Drive-In ownership and celebrate the Drive-In experience.
Being held at the Aut-O-Rama Drive-In Theatre, Drive-In Con will include discussions and Master Classes on Drive-In ownership where prospective Drive-In owners will meet and learn from current Drive-In owners on how to buy or build your own Drive-In.
While Drive-In Theatres have a nostalgic history, they have boldly leaped into the 21st Century. Drive-In Theatres now combine the nostalgic outdoor movie-going experience with modern state of the art technology including bright digital projection, digital stereo sound, and the largest screens in the country.
The Drive-In Theatre owners organization UDITOA (The United Drive-In Theatre Owners Association) and Mobile Moviegoing have teamed up to create this definitive Drive-In website, which unites the nearly 300 Drive-In Theatres located across the globe. The site features listings of Drive-Ins and search functions allowing movie-goers to locate Drive-In near them. Drive-Ins Near Me also features the latest Drive-In Theatre news.
