The official website and accounts for the upcoming Wandance anime series today unveiled a brand-new teaser visual, two main cast members and an October 2025 start date. Koki Uchiyama (Yamada in My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 ) takes the lead as Kaboku Kotani and is joined by Hina Yomiya (Yuki in SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary ) as his freestyle dance partner, Hikari Wanda. Disney+ announced last November that it will exclusively stream the series. Additional production staff information is yet to be confirmed. Coffee's Wandance manga has been serialized in Monthly Afternoon magazine since January 2019 and currently spans 13 collected volumes. Kodansha USA publishes an official English version of the manga and describes the story: Kaboku Kotani is starting high school, and he plans to do what he’s always done: go along with his friends, keep quiet, and not to draw too much attention to himself. After all, it’s hard enough to get by with a stutter like his—why make things worse by standing out from the crowd? But then he sees another first-year, Hikari Wanda, dancing like no one is watching—or like she doesn’t care who sees her. It makes Kaboku wonder: Could he reach that same freedom?
