Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends) returns to the big screen this coming December in Cineverse’s Silent Night, Deadly Night, but that’s not the only upcoming genre project from Campbell. He’ll also be starring in Violence, and Deadline has shared a first look image today.
Violence has been described as an “operatic punk rock thriller,” and Deadline reports this morning that sales agent The Coven (Terrifier 3) has secured the film’s worldwide sales rights.
Rohan Campbell stars alongside Malignant‘s Maddie Hasson. Connor Marsden directs the thriller from a script written by Marsden, William Woods, and Devin Myler.
Here’s the official synopsis: “Henry Violence, an anti-hero in an alternate 1980s world, becomes entangled in a brutal drug war as rival cartels battle for supremacy, forcing him to make difficult choices to navigate the treacherous landscape.”
“Violence is a furious love story wrapped in the raw energy of punk rock and the chaos of a city burning to the ground,” said Marsden. “We set out to create something visceral, cinematic, and utterly unforgettable—a film that hits like a sledgehammer to the chest.”
“We’re beyond thrilled to champion Violence,” added Anelle Dehghani, head of sales at The Coven. “This film combines bold artistic vision with Rohan’s magnetic leading performance and a blistering original soundtrack, and is precisely the kind of elevated horror and stylized genre cinema that ignited our fandom and will spread worldwide.”
