The TV anime adaptation of period fantasy / romantic drama light novel series Though I Am an Inept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court published a new piece of seasonal artwork (above) for the month of August today featuring the main characters, Kou Reirin and Shu Keigetsu, enjoying a pleasant day at the beach. Ichijinsha releases the light novels under the Ichijinsha Novels imprint, with ten volumes published in Japan since December 2020. Satsuki Nakamura writes and YukiKana illustrates the series. A manga adaptation by Ei Ohitsuji began in June 2021 in Monthly Comic Zero Sum , with eight volumes released in Japan to date. Mitsue Yamazaki directs the TV anime adaptation at animation studio Doga Kobo. Yoshiko Nakamura provides the series composition and Ai Kikuchi provides the character designs. A release date for the series has not been revealed at the time of this reporting.
