The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is heading to the stars for the second Hollywood film adaptation of the classic video game series, and coming along for the ride are some of anime’s most prominent voice actors. Nintendo Japan revealed the Japanese voices of new characters who will be joining the movie’s kingdom today in a special trailer for the Japanese release. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Japanese Teaser Trailer Maaya Sakamoto, best known as Mari from the Rebuild of Evangelion franchise, will be voicing Rosalina for the Japanese release while Daiki Yamashita, who is most well-known for being the voice of Deku in My Hero Academia , will be Bowser Jr., the antagonist of the flick and can be heard in the above trailer. Captain Marvel actor Brie Larson and Benny Safdie will be voicing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. respectively in the English version of the film. Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri and Nintendo Creative Fellow and creator of Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto, produce the film, which is set to be released by Universal Pictures on April 3, 2026, in North America and on April 24 in Japan.
