The Roots of To Your Eternity Documentary Premieres on Crunchyroll August 29

Just revealed at the To Your Eternity panel at Anime NYC, a new documentary titled The Roots of To Your Eternity will debut on Crunchyroll worldwide, excluding Japan, on August 29, taking a look at the series’ creation before the third season premieres in October 2025. The documentary will feature interviews from the original manga author Yoshitoki Oima, Season 2 Director and Season 3 Chief Director Kiyoko Sayama and more, with The Beholder voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda narrating. The original To Your Eternity manga by Oima ran from November 2016 to June 2025 for a total of 25 volumes. Kodansha USA releases an English-language version of the series. The first season of the anime debuted in August 2021, with the second season following in October 2022. Sota Yokote will take over as Season 3 director, with Season 2 director Kiyoko Sayama becoming chief director. Other returning staff members include Shinzo Fujita as series composer, Koji Yabuno as character designer, Ryo Kawasaki as music composer and Takeshi Takadera as sound director. Drive and STUDIO MASSKET will produce the animation. Crunchyroll will stream the upcoming third season when it premieres in October 2025 . Crunchyroll currently streams the previous two seasons in both sub and dub, and describes the overall series: In the beginning, an "orb" is cast unto Earth. "It" can do two things: change into the form of the thing that stimulates "it"; and come back to life after death. "It" morphs from orb to rock, then to wolf, and finally to boy, but roams about like a newborn who knows nothing. As a boy, "it" becomes Fushi. Through encounters with human kindness, Fushi not only gains survival skills, but grows as a "person". But his journey is darkened by the inexplicable and destructive enemy Nokker, as well as cruel partings with the people he loves.
