The Ogre's Bride Live-Action Film Teaser Trailer Teaser visual Comment from Ai Yoshikawa: Receiving the script, I grew increasingly excited about how this slightly mysterious world — where ayakashi are commonplace — would be portrayed, and what the costumes might look like. Yuzu-chan possesses a fragility I don't have myself [laughs], so I explored daily how to express and convey that fragility. She also has a strong core and is family-oriented despite her sad circumstances, so I carefully discussed both sides with the director while performing. I worked really hard alongside such wonderful cast members, so please do watch it! Comment from Ren Nagase: This is my first time starring in such a straightforward love story. When I got the role, I was a little nervous, but I was very happy to be given the part of Reiya. I'm already looking forward to seeing how this unique setting — a love story between a demon and a human — will be portrayed. Each day on set, Director Ikeda and I explored together, finding the right balance for Reiya's somewhat needy feelings for Yuzu. I believe it's a wonderful production that immerses you in the world of “The Ogre's Bride,” not just through the evolving romance and relationship between the two, but also through the costumes, makeup, art direction, and locations. Please look forward to its release. Jun Togashi, the illustrator of the novel's manga adaptation, also shared a celebratory illustration on the novel's official X (formerly Twitter) . The publisher has also serializes a manga adaptation with artwork by Togashi in their noicomi publication since 2022. As previously reported , the novel's TV anime adaptation is scheduled to premiere in 2026. MangaPlaza releases an English-language version of the manga, and describes the story: A Japanese-style ayakashi Cinderella story! "You're the bride I've been searching for all this time." The ayakashi and humans coexist in harmony. The ayakashi, having superior abilities and beautiful appearances, sometimes find their partner among human women, making them their "bride". The bride, in exchange for bringing prosperity, receives absolute love from the ayakashi. Yuzu is constantly compared to her sister, a bride of a demon fox, and is resented by her family every day. One day, when Yuzu just couldn't take things anymore, a man appears before her on a bridge. This man is the most beautiful man Yuzu has ever seen… and he's calling her his wife?! "Just be quiet and let me hold you." The most powerful, "cold-hearted" ayakashi is pouring his heart out for Yuzu?!
