The Menu actor Aimee Carrero (The Last Witch Hunter) has been set to lead the as-yet-untitled home invasion film from Lionsgate and Talking Pictures’ horror label Midnight Pictures, Deadline reports.
The horror thriller is currently in production in Los Angeles with Julian Labrádor directing and producing.
Carrero stars as “Lorena Riveras, whose mind is focused on her 12-year-old son’s safety after a recent accident. This is why their home security system is so crucial. It keeps a watchful eye on him when she can’t. But when surprise attackers appear, the cameras can only watch as masked invaders stalk mother and son in a real-time home invasion nightmare.”
The actor previously starred opposite Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy in The Menu as Felicity, personal assistant to washed-up star George Diaz (John Leguizamo).
The untitled feature was co-written by Labrádor and Whistle scribe Owen Egerton, with revisions by Nathan Elston (Other Mommy).
Producers also include Tabitha Shick for Talking Pictures, and Andre Fonseca, with Jeff Robinov and Dan Clifton executive producing.
