The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Anime 20th Anniversary Project Unveiled for 2026

The viral anime sensation that helped bring back the anime industry after the mid-2000s and made Kyoto Animation a household name, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya , turns 20 years old next year, and to celebrate, Kadokawa is launching “The Gratitude of Haruhi Suzumiya” 20th anniversary project. “The Gratitude of Haruhi Suzumiya” launch comes with the announcement of the first two projects: a new scale Haruhi figure from KDcolle based on her Season 2 design and a revival screening of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya film in 32 theaters across Japan – three more than the original run 16 years ago! The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya 2026 Revival Screening Trailer The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya originally opened in Japan on February 6, 2010, in 29 theaters to critical and commercial acclaim. A second season from April 2009 to October 2009, and included the first season episodes in chronological order.
