The Laughing Salesman Manga Gets Live-Action TV Drama in July

Dark comedy / psychological thriller manga The Laughing Salesman is being adapted into a live-action TV drama that will stream in Japan on Amazon Prime Video beginning on July 18. The new series features direction by Masaaki Ito, Youhei Osabe, Daisuke Yamamoto and Shota Sasaki and scripts by Kankuro Kudo, Maggy, Toru Hosokawa and Udai Iwasaki. The lead actor playing the role of Moguro Fukuzou has not yet been revealed. The series has previously been adapted into a TV anime in 1989 – 1992 and in 2017, a live-action TV drama in 1999, and a stage play in 2021. The story of the series follows Moguro Fukuzou, a mysterious salesman who offers to fill the emptiness within his clients' hearts by granting them their fondest wishes… for a price.
