Back for its fourth year running, The Horror Game Awards this year will mark its first live, in-person awards ceremony on December 3 in London, UK. In participation with Lost in Cult, the Kensington Conference and Events Centre in London will play host to the event, which will see the genre’s best games competing in 16 categories.
New to this year’s categories is Best Art Direction. Two awards categories – the Players’ Choice and Horror Content Creator of the Year – are entirely nominated and voted for by the public.
The remaining fourteen categories are nominated by the jury members, which boasts over 60 content creators. As in prior years, there is a specialist jury of game developers for the Technical Achievement and Lifetime Achievement awards, and a jury of accessibility experts for the Most Accessible Horror Game award.
Nominees will be announced on November 28, at which point a public vote will open for all categories. The jury members will then pick the winner from the top three as voted for the public, except in the two categories where the public vote will determine the winner outright.
The Horror Game Awards 2025 will be hosted by awards co-creators Phil Dickens and Will Penkeyman, alongside co-producer Ash Millman. Individual awards will be presented by developers and content creators from the horror gaming industry, who will be announced in the coming weeks.
