‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’ Teaser – Hannah Einbinder & Gillian Anderson Star in Meta Slasher This August

Experience a new kind of horror remake when Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma opens in theaters on August 7 via Mubi.

The first teaser pays homage to genre classics by using recognizable fonts from the likes of Friday the 13th, Halloween, and The Evil Dead. A full teaser trailer will be released next week.

Described as “Portrait of a Lady on Fire set in a Friday the 13th sequel,” the sapphic meta slasher is written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow).

It follows a queer filmmaker hired to direct a new installment of a long-running slasher franchise. The director fixates on the prospect of casting the ‘final girl’ from the original movie, and the two women descend into a frenzy of psychosexual mania.

Hannah Einbinder (“Hacks”) and Gillian Anderson (“The X-Files”) star with Jack Haven (I Saw the TV Glow) as Little Death.

Amanda Fix (Lowlifes), Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Eva Victor (Sorry Baby), Zach Cherry (“Severance”), Sarah Sherman (“Saturday Night Live”), Patrick Fischler (“Twin Peaks”), Dylan Baker (Trick ‘r Treat), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream), Kevin McDonald (“The Kids in the Hall”), and Quintessa Swindell (Black Adam) round out the cast.

The film features original music by Alex G (I Saw the TV Glow) with vocals by Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile.

Mubi and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment produce.
