After the Look Back manga took the world by storm, becoming a multiple award-winning anime film, the Tatsuki Fujimoto story is now being adapted into a live-action movie in 2026. Fujimoto’s editor, Shihei Lin, announced the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account alongside the release of the latest Chainsaw Man chapter on Shonen Jump+ . Two teaser visuals were released showing Fujino and Kyomoto in the snow and the two of them working hard drawing manga. Daiju Koide, who produced Shin Kamen Rider , is producing Look Back at K2Pictures. It is set to release in 2026. VIZ Media publishes the original one-shot manga. Look Back ’s anime adaptation, which released in Japan on June 28, 2024, and made over 2 billion yen (US$13.31 million) on the back of 1.17 million tickets sold, was released in North America by GKIDS, which describes the film as such: Popular, outgoing Fujino is celebrated by her classmates for her funny comics in the class newspaper. One day, her teacher asks her to share the space with Kyomoto, a truant recluse whose beautiful artwork sparks a competitive fervor in Fujino. What starts as jealousy transforms when Fujino realizes their shared passion for drawing.
