An end of service date is officially in place for mobile action game Sword Art Online: Variant Showdown . Bandai Namco announced plans to shut the game down on October 30. An Offline Edition with some preserved play data will follow in November, with a migration period running from October 1, 2025 to January 29, 2026. In the meantime, the devs have a finale campaign in store for fans as a way of saying thanks. That all starts in October along with the final episodes of Part 4. Here’s what the announcement said about the end of service plans: Despite daily efforts to improve service quality since its launch on 11/24/2022, we ultimately decided to discontinue the service after concluding that it would be difficult to continue providing a satisfying player experience. Once again, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the app over the years, along with our sincere apologies for this unfortunate outcome. Unlimited Dungeon A selection of floors from 50F to 500F of the Unlimited Dungeon will be available to play. Points for allotting on the Growth Board will also be set to the maximum amount from the beginning to allow you to enjoy it as you please. Takedown Battles You will be able to play all Solo and Multi Quests released up to this point. Battle Royal You will be able to play free matches against the CPU. Stories The following stories released after the period of extended maintenance ended on 12/17/2024 will be available to enjoy. · Main Story · Side Stories · Extra Stories Character Interactions All features of Character Interactions will be unlocked, allowing you to enjoy character-unique stories and voices. Scouts A Scout with all previous characters and ability cards will be created. This will allow you to enjoy the Scout and SSR character cutscenes. Thank-You Credits The player names of all players who have logged in before 8/29/2025 will be viewable as credits in the Offline Edition. Profile & Gallery You will be able to freely change the Title and Background of your profile as before. All previous characters will be unlocked in the Gallery.
