After two movies from director Parker Finn, the Smile saga returns with a brand new comic book from IDW Dark titled Smile: For the Camera, and the first look has been revealed.
Written by Hannah Rose May (Rogues’ Gallery) with art by Miriana Puglia (Red Sonja) & colors by Dearbhla Kelly, Smile: For the Camera #1 will be published February 18.
Set in 2005, before the events of both Smile and Smile 2, “a group of international models kick off Fashion Month in New York. They’re dying to smile for the camera, but paranoia quickly creeps in as the mysterious Smile Entity begins to stalk the group.”
Entertainment Weekly has revealed the various cover arts for Smile: For the Camera #1 this morning, while also providing some sneak peeks inside the pages of the horror comic book.
“It’s no secret that the fashion industry has its own monsters. They’re just not supernatural,” creator Hannah Rose May tells Entertainment Weekly. “So that’s what excited me the most. This allows us to deal with those monsters but with an entity being the main setting.”
