Short Horror Adventure Title ‘Caput Mortum’ Available Now on The Nintendo Switch

After releasing on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series earlier this month (and on Steam last August), Black Lantern Collective and developer WildArts’ short first-person horror game Caput Mortum is out now on the Nintendo Switch. The game is also compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2.

Inspired by retro 3D dungeon crawlers and survival horror games such King’s Field and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Caput Mortum sees players delve into an abandoned alchemist’s tower on an otherwise-scenic coastline in 16th-century France. All the while, they will be uncovering mysteries of the tower’s former occupants, and braving the horrors that beckon them below.

In Caput Mortum, you’ll need to pay close attention to your surroundings, overcome unique puzzles, and piece together the events that took place within the tower. You need to stay vigilant, as monsters roam the abandoned halls of the tower and won’t hesitate to attack. Use stealth to get past them, fight back, or perhaps do something unorthodox? Just be mindful of your health. There are only so many healing items in the game.

A controller is recommended to enjoy the game to its fullest. In fact, fans of old-school dungeon crawlers might recognize a King’s Field controller settings option, which emulates the button mapping of FromSoftware’s classic 1994 action RPG.
