Today, the anime adaptation of historical fantasy novel series Shabake hits us with a deluge of news all at once: a trailer, key visual and cast additions! The series has also confirmed an October 3 premiere. Takahiro Okawa directs the Shabake TV anime at animation studio BN Pictures. Toko Machida provides the series composition, Akari Minagawa provides the character designs and Rei Ishizuka provides the music. Set during the Edo period, Shabake follows the adventures of Ichitaro, the heir to Nagasakiya, one of the largest commercial stores in Nihonbashi. Ichitaro was born sickly and is unable to go outside as a result, but he is beloved by the spirits such as his friends Sasuke (an inugami) and Nikichi (a hakutaku), who accompany and protect him. One night, Ichitaro sneaks out of his home and witnesses a murder, and thus begins his search for the culprit with the help of his spirit companions.
