“Alien: Earth” premieres August 12 on FX and Hulu, but the first episode will be playing in select theaters next Wednesday, August 6, and 7pm.

The eight-episode series is set in the year 2120 — two years prior to the events of Alien and 16 years after Alien: Covenant.

When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.

Creator Noah Hawley (“Fargo,” “Legion”) serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, in addition to helming the first episode. Alien director Ridley Scott also executive produces.
