Ahead of a January 2026 broadcast, the Scum of the Brave anime released a brand-new character video today that reveals and previews the voice of Akari Kito (Nezuko in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ) as Aki Jogamine, a second-year student at the Hero Training Academy. Originally a web novel serialized on Kadokawa's Kakuyomu platform, the Scum of the Brave light novel is written by Rocket Shoukai, illustrated Yuya Kusaka and published by Fujimi Shobo under their Kadokawa Books imprint. A manga adaptation with artwork by Nakashima723 is published in Japan by Leed Publishing in their Comic Border manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Manga Planet, who describe the story as follows: In an alternate 21st century, rich mafia members can turn into "Demon Kings" through increasingly popular ether-enhancement surgery, and the bounty hunters called "Braves" are the ones called upon to take them down. Yashiro only wants the simple pleasures in life – pizza, beer, and card games.
