RuriDragon Anime by Kyoto Animation Announced

Kyoto Animation, the studio that brought us Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and other slice-of-life classics, announced in a highlight video today that they are adapting Masaoki Shindo's beloved RuriDragon manga into a TV anime. A small animated snippet was shown (at 1:23), along with the message that "the broadcast is still a long way off." Production staff and cast details were not confirmed at the time of reporting. The series began in Weekly Shonen Jump in June 2022 before moving to the magazine's digital version and the Shonen Jump+ digital platform in 2024 after a hiatus due to the author’s health . VIZ Media distributes the English-language version on the Shonen Jump app bi-weekly and through published volumes, and describes the series: Well, a half dragon. Her mom admits Ruri inherited her draconic traits from her father, who, yes, is actually a dragon. As if dealing with curious classmates wasn’t already challenging enough, Ruri and her dragon genes literally turn up the heat in the middle of a lecture.
