More horror-themed deckbuilding is coming next week to Steam Next Fest with The House of Hamelin. Developed by Wither Studios, the team that made IMMURE and directed by the creator of the dark adventure game Sally Face, The House of Hamelin will launch into Early Access at a later date for PC via Steam.
The House of Hamelin sees players step into the shoes of Perdita, a young woman tasked with finding Paige, her missing cat, in the eponymous house. In order to fend off the creatures that stalk Perdita from the darkness, you’ll need to build a collection of strange cards to engage them turn-based combat.
Build two different card decks, a main spell deck and a more powerful, but limited-use ritual deck to crush the creatures preventing Perdita’s progress through the house. You’ll need to be wary of your Stamina as you move in the long, dark hallways. Don’t let the monsters catch you!
Explore the haunted surroundings of the Hamelin house with point and click gameplay, and discover new cards and hidden treasures within the halls and rooms of the house. Collect hair (yes, hair) to trade with a woman in the walls who will gladly trade them for valuable items from her junk drawer.
Be careful, as death is permanent in the House of Hamelin, with each new attempt featuring new cards, enemies, and layouts in the house.
