Rilakkuma Short Form TV Anime Debuts in April 2026

Announced back in October 2024 , the Rilakkuma short form TV anime revealed new information today including its main staff and a new piece of key art. The series will broadcast in Japan beginning in April 2026. The Rilakkuma TV anime is based on original work by San-X. Yoshimi Itazu and Yumi Kamakura direct the series at animation studio Production I.G, with Chie Morita on character designs and Kota Yokoseki, Yoshiya Ikeda and Mizuki Kanno providing the music. San-X describes the character of Rilakkuma as follows: “ Rilakkuma” means “Bear in relaxed mood”. At all time and everywhere Rilakkuma goes Rilakkuma is continuously lazy and relaxed. Rilakkuma is totally stress-free and also doing things at Rilakkuma's pace. Rilakkuma is someone impossible to be hated by others.
