Rachel McAdams & Dylan O’Brien Are Stranded in First Images from Sam Raimi’s ‘Send Help’

EW has revealed the first look at Rachel McAdams (Doctor Strange) and Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) as Linda Liddle and Bradley Preston in Send Help.

Directed by master of horror Sam Raimi, the darkly comedic survival thriller opens on January 30, 2026 from 20th Century Studios.

“I found the two lead characters, Linda and Bradley, to be complex, human, and constantly at odds with each other in often conflicting situations,” Raimi tells EW. “The pitch was outrageous and original, all the while tracking these two in their conflict as their power dynamic changed dramatically. I knew right away that I wanted to direct this picture.”

McAdams and O’Brien star as co-workers who become the sole survivors of a plane crash while on a business trip. Stranded on a deserted island, they have to work together to survive, which means overcoming past grievances. It becomes a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.

“What I really love about this story is that it’s an underdog tale at its core. Not only is it about survival on a deserted island, but it’s also a story of female empowerment and transformation,” Raimi notes. “Watching a once-powerful boss find himself dependent on someone he underestimated is satisfying. Our story is universal!

He continues, “We need to encourage our society to treat people with respect and kindness, regardless of status. It’s especially rewarding to see our heroine, Linda, come into her own in such an unexpected environment.”

Described as a cross between Misery and Castaway, the script is written by Damian Shannon & Mark Swift (Freddy vs. Jason, Friday the 13th).

Dennis Haysbert (“24”) and Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians) round out the cast. Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Beetlejuice) composed the score.

The Send Help trailer will be attached to Black Phone 2 when it hits theaters this weekend, but keep an eye here in case it makes its way online first.
