Poupelle of Chimney Town Anime Movie Sequel Unveils Main Poster Visual

The official website for the upcoming anime film Entotsumachi no Poupelle – Yakusoku no Tokeidai ("Chimney Town: Frozen in Time") released a main poster visual today. Main poster visual Entotsumachi no Poupelle – Yakusoku no Tokeidai is set to release in Japan on March 27, 2026. Prior to the theatrical release in Japan, the film will be officially presented in the Generation Kplus section at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. The Generation section, established in 1978, consists of two competitions: "Generation 14plus" and "Generation Kplus." It specializes in films depicting the world of children and teenagers. Previously, Japan has also submitted Tekkonkinkreet , another film animated by STUDIO4℃, in 2007. Additionally, during the film festival period from February 12 to 22, the world premiere screening of Entotsumachi no Poupelle – Yakusoku no Tokeidai is scheduled to take place, marking its global debut ahead of its Japanese release. The STUDIO 4℃-animated film released in Japan in December 2020, making 2.7 billion yen (17.6 million USD) from its domestic run, becoming the 12th top-grossing film of 2021 in Japan. The picture book's co-creator Akihiro Nishino serves as executive producer and provides a screenplay for the sequel. The first film's Yusuke Hirota continues to direct at STUDIO 4℃.
