Please Teacher! Anime Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for Reboot Project

Following a 20th anniversary celebration a few years back, the Please Teacher! ( Onegai Teacher ) series is now looking to produce more anime. Genco, Inc. launched a crowdfunding campaign via Motion Gallery with the goal of raising 25 million yen (about US$160,000) to fund a new reboot project. The campaign will run until March 27, 2026, and available support tiers range from ¥4,000 to ¥110,000. Rewards include a Blu-ray of the new project, an anthology produced for the 20th anniversary event, acrylic boards, postcards, clear files and more.  At the time of this writing, 142 backers have raised nearly ¥4 million. Please Teacher! and Please Twins! director Yasunori Ide is back at the helm for the reboot project, with Taraku Uon returning on character deisgns, Kusanagi on background art and Emi Yonezawa as producer for the Studio M2 production. Animator Atsuko Nakajima will also return for some illustrative work, and all of the voice actors will be back in their respective roles.  The staff hopes to complete the new project between April and May 2026, but notes that work will continue even if they don’t hit the campaign’s goal. The finished product will have limited screenings in the anime series settings of Tokyo and Lake Kizaki, as well as a release on Blu-ray.  RELATED: Please Teacher!
