The official website for the upcoming anime film adaptation of Kazuyoshi Takeda's World War II manga Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise released a main visual and trailer today. Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise Main Trailer Main Visual The trailer features the movie's theme song "Kiseki no youna Koto" ("Something like a miracle") sung by Mone Kamishiraishi (Mitsuha Miyamizu in Your Name. ) Kamishiraishi, who began her career as a musical actor, has also built her career as a solo singer and held her first solo concert at Nippon Budokan in 2023. "Approaching the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, I am truly delighted to present this movie to you all, along with its theme song," said Kamishiraishi. "After receiving the offer, I read the original manga all at once. I felt the characters so close — it wasn't just history, but the stories of individuals just like us. Kazuyoshi Takeda's original Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise manga was serialized in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine from February 2016 to April 2021, releasing 11 collected volumes in total. The manga won the Japan Cartoonists Association Award's Excellence Award in 2017. The synopsis reads: The island of Peleliu. A paradise on earth where the Japanese soldier Tamaru, a draftsman in civilian life, disembarked in the summer of 1944, at the end of the Pacific War.
