Osgood Perkins has officially started production on The Young People.
The prolific writer-director shared a photo from the set of Lola Tung (The Summer I Turned Pretty), who stars alongside Nico Parker (“The Last of Us”).
Shooting is taking place in Vancouver for a 2026 theatrical release via Neon.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, per usual, but the script image below mentions The Old Ones, leading to speculation of a Lovecraftian horror movie.
Neon, which has a first-look deal with Perkins, is co-financing the film with Lyrical Media for a theatrical release. Perkins is producing with his partner Chris Ferguson for Phobos and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Range.
The Young People will be Perkins’ fourth film with Neon in three years, following Longlegs, The Monkey, and Keeper, which opens on November 14.
