Eiichiro Oda’s epic manga ONE PIECE will be taking an unscheduled, sudden break in the October 6 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump , the official accounts for the series announced today. Because of time constraints due to the printing process, ONE PIECE will still appear in the table of contents and reader surveys, but the chapter won’t be inside. The next chapter is scheduled to be published in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 46, which will be released on October 14. The above tweet notes that the postponement is due to Eiichiro Oda’s poor health. Manga is usually made a few weeks ahead of time, and printing for the physical magazines is ready at least a week before release, so the next chapter is likely in the printing press. The statement also confirms that Oda “is recuperating well.” The complete statement reads: “Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 45 (on sale Monday, October 6) will not feature a new chapter of ONE PIECE due to the author's poor health. Although ONE PIECE appears in the contents page and reader survey postcard for Issue 45, we were unable to make corrections in time due to the printing process. We sincerely apologize for this. The next chapter will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 46 (on sale Tuesday, October 14). The author is recuperating well. We sincerely appreciate your continued support for ONE PIECE. ” RELATED: ONE PIECE DAY’25 Goes Large with Elbaph Exhibition and More Crunchyroll currently streams the ONE PIECE anime in both sub and dub formats, and describes the series as such: Monkey.
