New Pokémon Legends: Z-A Trailer Reveals Ranked Mode, Champions Details

Pokémon Worlds ended today with the crowning of new champions and a bunch of new information for all the games. This includes a new trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A showing off a ranked battle mode, details on the Pokémon Champions supplementary game, new trailers for the upcoming Mega Evolution sets for the physical Pokémon TCG and TCG Pocket mobile game and the reveal of a new event to coincide with next year’s Worlds. Pokémon Legends: Z-A ’s New Ranked Mode Trailer Newly announced for Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the Z-A Battle Club, a four-player real-time battle system where everyone tries to defeat everyone else’s Pokémon to gain enough points and win the match. The mode plays as a linked game with friends or ranked, where trainers get rewards for going up each rank, spanning from Z to A! There will also be competitive seasons throughout the year for this format. A new trailer for Pokémon Champions was also released, revealing that it’s a “free-to-start” game that will be used as the base for Pokémon tournaments going forward, including next year’s World Championship. There will also be a paid version for the Nintendo Switch systems. No release date was revealed for the game, but it is assumed to be before next year’s Worlds in August. PokémonXP Event Announced for Worlds 2026 RELATED: Pokémon Reveals New Mega Evolution for Pokémon Legends: Z-A Alongside the Pokémon World Championships next year, another fan event called PokémonXP will be held at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Tickets for the event will go on sale on September 17, and the premium tickets will allow entry to the Pokémon World Championships finals on Day 2 at the Chase Center. Mega Evolution Comes to Pokémon TCG Pocket A new rarity will come to the physical Pokémon TCG, which features Japanese katakana (the Japanese cards feature English in place of the katakana) for three cards: Mega Charizard X ex, Mega Gardevoir ex, and Mega Lucario ex. Named Mega attack rare and in reference to classic cards from the XY era, they’ll be available in future, unannounced sets. Mega Evolution is also coming to the popular Pokémon TCG Pocket game this fall with Mega Gyarados ex, Mega Blaziken ex, and Mega Altaria ex as the lead Pokémon for the upcoming set and series.  Sources: Pokémon on YouTube , Press Release
