New Gameplay Footage Revealed Alongside Final Previews for ‘Resident Evil Requiem’ [Video]

With Resident Evil Requiem releasing in just under a month, several outlets such as Game Informer, GamesRadar+, IGN, PlayStation Blog, VideoGamer, and Xbox Wire have released their final preview for the game. That also includes brand-new gameplay footage featuring Leon dishing out punishment.

In addition, Game Informer has published an interview with Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi, who has clarified the misconceptions and rumours about Requiem being an open-world title.

If you recall, Capcom and Nvidia had released a trailer at the beginning of January that showed off the game’s graphical prowess, while seemingly teasing a more open Racoon City. That, and coupled with leaker Dusk Golem’s statement on “open-level designed areas“, some fans have taken this to mean that Requiem is an open world game.

Nakanishi stated that the devteam has seen these statements and speculations, and in response, wanted to “set the record straight” that Requiem is not an open world game.

“The main concept behind this game is combining the very different gameplay of Grace and Leon into a cohesive package, and having those two gameplays represent the Resident Evil series, and I think when you play the game, you realize that, or you will find as well that the development team picked the best approach to do this.”

Look for Resident Evil Requiem when it launches on the PlayStation 5Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on February 27.
