The official website for the upcoming new anime adaptation of the Fist of the North Star manga series created by Buronson (story) and Tetsuo Hara (art) revealed a first key visual featuring the protagonist, Kenshiro, today. The website also announced that the anime is set to premiere in 2026. Production of the new anime was announced back in September 2023 as the manga's 40th anniversary project. 1st Key Visual The anime's teaser trailer and main voice cast members will also be revealed at the Warner Bros. Japan industry panel at Anime Expo 2025 on July 5. The original Fist of the North Star manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from September 1983 to August 1988, compiled into 27 tankobon volumes. It has been animated many times as a TV series and OVAs, and in 1995 it was made into a live-action movie starring Garry Daniels. The synopsis from the official website reads : In the year 199X, the world is engulfed in a nuclear inferno! The seas have vanished. The earth lies in ruins. It seems all life has been wiped out…but humanity has not perished! Across the scorched and broken land, survivors cling to hope, desperately searching for food and water.
