Originally announced last year for a 2025 release, “Motel Transylvania” is now due on Netflix in 2027.

The Hotel Transylvania spin-off series follows Drac and Mavis as they head to California and try to set up a brand new resort for humans and monsters.

Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind the film franchise, is also producing the show. No other details are available at this time.

In Hotel Transylvania, Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the hotel and falls for the count’s teenage daughter.

The 2012 original was followed by Hotel Transylvania 2 in 2015, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation in 2018, and Hotel Transylvania: Transformania in 2022.

“Motel Transylvania” is the second animated series to spawn from the movies after “Hotel Transylvania: The Series,” which ran for two seasons on Disney Channel between 2017 and 2020.
