New art depicts Ame-chan, the girl behind streamer OMGkawaiiAngel, as she will appear in the anime. The voice (or voices) behind Ame-chan and her online persona have yet to be revealed. NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE (released as NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD in the West) was released for Windows and MacOS on January 21, 2022, and for Nintendo Switch on October 27 later that year before arriving on PlayStation 4 and 5 on January 20, 2025. The anime's official website boasts over 3 million downloads for the game and over 400 million streams for its related music tracks. The Steam page for the English release features the following description: NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD is a “multi-ending ADV” depicting daily life with “OMGkawaiiAngel”, a young girl with a rather extreme need for approval attempting to become the #1 “Internet Angel” (streamer).
