‘Monster Medicine’ Exclusive First Look Introduces Emergency Room Patient from Hell

Only the special team known as the “Monster Medicine” can help a woman with a strange affliction in the new horror short premiering this weekend, and Bloody Disgusting has the exclusive first look.

Filmmaker Veronica Felicity Johnson‘s “Monster Medicine” introduces a patient from Hell, and you can get a first peek at the practical creature effects in this medical nightmare scenario below.

In the short film, “An emergency doctor on a heavenly mission works to save a dying patient from hell in an East L.A. Urgent Care, transforming each of them forever in the most unexpected ways.”

Yet Johnson’s aim isn’t to scare, necessarily. The director told The Georgia Straight, “The audience is going to be really moved by it in a strange way because it’s an interesting, fun, and unique movie, as we have monsters as doctors. The audience is really going to see monsters as sentient creatures.”

Andi Norris, Brittany Belt, Eric Toms, Kamy Bruder, and creature performer Kevin Keppy (Smile, “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities”) star.  Special effects character creator Lisette Santana (“Fallout”, Satanic Hispanics) provides the practical effects.

“Monster Medicine” premieres tomorrow at the Vancouver Horror Show.
