Mononoke the Movie: The Curse of the Serpent Premieres on May 29

The upcoming theatrical anime film Mononoke the Movie: The Curse of the Serpent revealed a new trailer, a new piece of teaser art and a new cast addition today. The film begins its theatrical run in Japan on May 29, 2026. Mononoke the Movie: The Curse of the Serpent Trailer In the film, voice actor Miyuki Sawashiro plays the role of the Sandaime Midaidokoro , the third wife of the Shogun. Kenji Nakamura serves as chief director for Mononoke the Movie: The Curse of the Serpent at animation studios Twin Engine and Studio Kafka EOTA, with direction by Tomoaki Koshida, script by Yasumi Atarashi, original character designs by Kitsuneko Nagata, animation character designs and chief animation direction by Yuichi Takahashi and music by Taku Iwasaki. Netflix currently streams the previous two entries in the film trilogy, which are subtitled as Phantom in the Rain and The Ashes of Rage , respectively.
