The official websites for the Naruto series and the live-action How to Train Your Dragon released a collaboration illustration today from Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto to celebrate the upcoming release of the live-action movie in Japan. The art features Naruto and Gamakichi alongside Hiccup and Toothless. The live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie releases in Japan on September 5. Kishimoto also said in a comment released on the website, "The animated How to Train Your Dragon is so entertaining that even cartoonists think of it as a masterpiece. Even as a live-action, it will be just as entertaining! I bet flying on the back of a live-action dragon feels just as exhilarating." Based on the DreamWorks Animation How to Train Your Dragon film from 2010, the live-action adaptation released in the United States on June 13. The original Naruto manga by Kishimoto began in 1999 and ran until 2014 for a total of 72 volumes. VIZ Media releases an English-language version of the manga. The original anime adaptation of Naruto aired from 2002 to 2007, with Naruto Shippuden airing from 2007 to 2017. Crunchyroll currently streams both Naruto anime series, as well as the BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS anime, and describes the first series as such: The Village Hidden in the Leaves is home to the stealthiest ninja. But twelve years earlier, a fearsome Nine-tailed Fox terrorized the village before it was subdued and its spirit sealed within the body of a baby boy.
