Masamune Shirow Exhibition Travels to Osaka, Shares New Ghost in the Shell Art by Katsuhiro Otomo

The traveling exhibition The World of Masamune Shirow: Ghost in the Shell and the Path of Creation kicks off its Osaka stop today, September 5. Throughout the exhibition's run, it has sported collab art from other famous artists, reinterpreting their own work in Shirow's worldview. Visitors to the Osaka stop will be among the first to see a brand new piece by a fellow artistic luminary: Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo. The new piece mimics the iconic poster shot of Kaneda walking up to his bike: Katsuhiro Otomo Collab Illustration RELATED: Ghost in the Shell Anime Series Plans Comprehensive Exhibition in 2026 The exhibition welcomed more than 55,000 visitors during the Tokyo leg of its tour between April and August of this year. The Osaka stop will include new merchandise, a collab menu at the venue's TANK bar/cafe and special gifts for PARCO members.
