Macross Plus Movie Editio n will be restored in 4K to commemorate its 30th anniversary in March 2026. Macross Plus Movie Edition , released theatrically in Japan in October 1995, is a re-edited version of the four-episode OVA Macross Plus , directed by Shinichiro Watanabe ( Cowboy Bebop ) and Shoji Kawamori ( The Vision of Escaflowne ), featuring newly added footage and a different ending scene. The special limited edition "Macross Plus Movie Edition 4K Remastered Set," including both a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and a Blu-ray disc, will be released on March 25, 2026. This limited edition will also be available for advance purchase at the theatrical screening beginning on March 20, 2026.
