Master thief Lupin the Third is stealing the spotlight once again this year! The kabuki adaptation of the classic manga and anime series will be returning for a second run this September, and new artwork shows off the Lupin Gang in their iconic stage costumes. While art for previous productions showed the Gang in costumes reminiscent of their traditional TV and film outfits, the new art depicts them in costumes designed specifically for the kabuki production. The kimono designs are inspired by the costumes from Shiranami Gonin Otoko , or "The Five Chivalrous Thieves." (The kanji for shiranami , a term for thieves that literally translates to "white waves," also finds its way into the play's kanji rendering of Lupin's name.)
