In the 2000 classic, “In the future, the Japanese government captures a class of ninth-grade students and forces them to kill one another under the revolutionary Battle Royale Act.”

Quentin Tarantino once described Battle Royale as a movie he wishes he made. “I’m a big fan of the Japanese movie Battle Royale, which is what Hunger Games was based on, well Hunger Games ripped it off. That would have been awesome to have directed Battle Royale,” he said.
