GKIDS revealed today that the anime movie Labyrinth will open in North America theaters on May 10 and 11, 2026. Further details such as exact theater listings and show times were not announced at the time of reporting. Shoji Kawamori directed Labyrinth at animation studio SANZIGEN, with a script by Taichi Hashimoto, character designs by Risa Ebata. SUZUKA, one of ATARASHII GAKKO!'s four members, voices the protagonist, Shiori Maezawa, and SHIORI@REVOLUTION, another Shiori who appeared in the real world from the smartphone world, as her first voice acting roles. The film opened in Japan on January 1, 2026. The official website for the 38th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), which held the film's Asian premiere in October 2025, describes the movie as such : Shiori, an ordinary high school girl yearning for viral fame, is replaced in reality by her digital counterpart "SHIORI" after a crack forms on her smartphone. Trapped in the digital world, she can only watch as her double rises as a pop icon.
