Kingdom Live-Action Movie Series Announces Fifth Film for Summer 2026

The live-action film series based on the historical epic manga Kingdom announced today that the fifth film in the series is scheduled to release in Japan in summer 2026, alongside the release of a "super teaser" visual. The visual features actor Kento Yamazaki in full costume and makeup as Xin , one of the protagonists of the series. The series began in January 2006 with 75 volumes published in Japan to date. VIZ Media will also publish an English language version of the series, scheduled to begin releasing in November 2025 . Shunsuke Sato directs the live-action Kingdom films with the first released in 2019, and sequels released in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Crunchyroll currently streams the Kingdom TV anime and describes the story: Xin and Piao are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of proving themselves on the battlefield until the day Piao is captured by a minister. The boy manages to escape and return to his village, but he is badly injured.
