The official website for the upcoming light anime adaptation of Yoroida's fantasy slice-of-life manga series #Kanagawa ni Sunderu Elf ("Elves Living in Kanagawa") opened today, revealing a key visual newly drawn by the manga author (see above) and a teaser trailer. The trailer introduces the voice s of the anime's two main characters for the first time — Yokohama Elf voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi (Yukiya Himuro in The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague ) and Kawasaki Human voiced by Yu Hayashi (Jogi in You and Idol Precure♪ ). #Kanagawa ni Sunderu Elf Teaser Trailer Comment from Chiaki Kobayashi: I'm playing Yokohama Elf. I'm Chiaki Kobayashi, originally from Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The lively conversation between Yokohama Elf and Kawasaki, along with the story packed with common things about Kanagawa and its unique charm, should be enjoyable regardless of where you're from. It was the first time in my career I'd been given a role labeled “ordinary,” so I focused on being unadorned and unassuming—just maintaining the vibe of how I normally speak. It was fun recording with the cast, feeling that interesting dissonance of acting with elves and such while maintaining an everyday feel. Please look forward to it! The series follows a community of elves forced to abandon their home after a forest fire two years prior. Now, elves mingle among humans in Kanagawa Prefecture. The story follows elves, humans and other creatures in different cities across the region. The light anime series is set to premiere in December 2025. Meanwhile, a live -action adaptation of the manga will also premiere on September 30, 2025.
