With just a week to go until Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME launches, the upcoming free-to-play mobile app has announced the voice cast members behind two more original characters joining the fray. Machico (Tokai Teio in Umamusume: Pretty Derby ) will play Suited, a "genius girl" who gets super excited about kaiju. Joning her will be Kosuke Toriumi (Saw in SAKAMOTO DAYS ) as Chester Lochburn, described as "capable and kind." Both characters were first revealed earlier this month . The story of the game is described thus: Mysterious gates known as the Kaiju Dimensional Gates have suddenly appeared due to the actions of a certain Kaiju. In this new Kaiju No. 8 world, where Kaiju with unknown powers appear not only in Japan but across the globe, Identified Kaiju that were once thought to be defeated now confront the Defense Force by passing through these Kaiju Dimensional Gates. On top of that, unknown Kaiju possessing special abilities—and seemingly responsible for the creation of these Kaiju Dimensional Gates—continue to cross over the boundary between dimensions to launch their attacks. Their appearance has led to a series of battles against colossal Kaiju. The original Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto is serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ digital manga platform. An English language version is also available from VIZ Media. Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya direct the TV anime at studio Production I.G., with Ichiro Okouchi ( Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury ) on series composition, Tetsuya Nishio ( Naruto ) on character designs and Yuta Bando ( BELLE ) on music.
