After launching on iOS and Android devices on August 31, the Kaiju No. 8 RPG has its sights set on PC next. Akatsuki Games Inc., TOHO CO., LTD. and Production I.G announced plans to bring KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME to PC via Steam on October 1. When the game hit the App Store it reached the #1 spot for role-playing, adventure and free-to-play games, and has since been downloaded over three million times across mobile platforms, according to the press release. Main Story: Follow original characters from the Closing Order with Zero Restrictions (CLOZER), a special unit led by Sagan Shinomiya, the non-blood-related older sister of Kikoru Shinomiya. She moved to the United States and enlisted in the US Defense Force after being adopted into the Shinomiya family. Memories: Relive iconic scenes from the Kaiju No. 8 anime and manga. Character Stories: Highlights the daily lives and interactions of individual Defense Force officers in original scenarios. Action-Packed Turn-Based Battles: In KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME, players assemble squads of their favorite Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force officers and face down deadly Kaiju in an intuitive, turn-based combat system. Utilize officers’ unique skills and Ultimates, expose the Kaiju’s cores, and deliver a finishing blow! Iconic officers join forces, including Kafka Hibino, Mina Ashiro, Reno Ichikawa, Kikoru Shinomiya, Soshiro Hoshina, Isao Shinomiya, and more. When characters fight together as battle buddies, they can coordinate to provide powerful support for one another in combat. The game also features an equipment crafting system called “Unipart R&D,” where each crafted item has randomly generated stats. Collect materials through specific quests to develop and strengthen the characters you love. The Kaiju No. 8 anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll, which describes the series like so: The story revolves around Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old longing to join The Defense Force and make good on his promise to a childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. He befriends a new coworker Reno Ichikawa, while cleaning up Kaiju remains, whose determination to join The Defense Force inspires Kafka to fulfill his childhood promise to pass the entrance exam and join Mina to protect humanity. When a small Kaiju burrows itself inside Kafka, he gains superhuman strength and powers fit for fighting Kaiju.
