Following the broadcast of Kaiju No. 8 Episode 22, the anime's official website published three new character visuals featuring Gen Narumi, Kikoru Shinomiya and Soshiro Hoshina clad in their special new suits engineered from the remains of Kaiju No. 1, 4 and 10, respectively. VIZ Media publishes an English language version of the series. Shigeyuki Miya directs the new season of Kaiju No. 8 at animation studio Production I.G. Yuichiro Kido provides the series composition, with Tetsuya Nishio serving as chief animation director and character designer, Mahiro Maeda providing the kaiju design, Shinji Kimura serving as art director and Yuta Bando providing the music. Crunchyroll currently streams Kaiju No. 8 and describes the story: The story revolves around Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old longing to join The Defense Force and make good on his promise to a childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. He befriends a new coworker Reno Ichikawa, while cleaning up Kaiju remains, whose determination to join The Defense Force inspires Kafka to fulfill his childhood promise to pass the entrance exam and join Mina to protect humanity. When a small Kaiju burrows itself inside Kafka, he gains superhuman strength and powers fit for fighting Kaiju.
