First-year Jujutsu High student and vessel of the King of Curses, Yuji Itadori, is plagued by guilt over what happened the night of the Shibuya Incident. But now it’s time to fight. The Culling Game has started, and the sorcerers must enter the fray to save innocent people swept up in the battle. Yuji is making new allies and reuniting with old friends as they search for a way to stop Kenjaku – and the end of the world. Friends Old and New A teenage girl lies on her futon as darkness surrounds her. A voice – Kenjaku – tells her that she’s inside a barrier and that this area has been chosen for a contest to the death. She politely asks him not to do that in her neighborhood, and he can’t help laughing. Kenjaku tells her that a nearby execution site is the reason why it must be here. However, she may leave now before the Culling Game begins. As they walk out of the barrier together, he thanks her for being a friend to his son. Sasaki wakes up and sees Iguchi standing in the street with her. A face flashes in her mind, her old classmate Yuji Itadori, who was in the Occult Phenomenon Research Club with them. Is that who Kenjaku meant? Meanwhile, Yuji, Megumi and Panda fill in Hakari and Kirara on everything that’s happened. Hakari absolutely can’t believe that Gojo’s been sealed. Panda apologizes for telling everyone this way, but Principal Yaga has also died . Seeing Yuji’s face, he reassures him that it’s all right. Hakari agrees to help them stop the Culling Game – for a price. A New Plan The sorcerers get ready to talk about their next moves when a kogane appears to inform them of Hajime Kashimo’s addition to the rules. (As Sukuna’s vessel, Yuji is already part of the Culling Game due to a pact the King of Curses made with Kenjaku long ago.) They take advantage of the new rule to search for players with a high number of points. They find two: Hajime Kashimo and Hiromi Higuruma. They can ask them to make a new rule that allows point transfers, then gather and use points to make a rule for players to escape the Culling Game. Hakari declares he and Panda will go to Tokyo Colony No. 2 to find Kashimo and Angel, respectively, while Fushiguro and Yuji go to Tokyo Colony No. 1 to look for Higuruma. Kirara will stand by for now. Seven days before Tsumiki Fushiguro will be required to enter the Culling Game, Megumi, Panda and Hakari officially become Players. Newbie Hunters As they walk toward the Colony , Megumi warns Yuji not to underestimate reincarnated sorcerers; they’re more ruthless than modern sorcerers like themselves. They step into the barrier together, and they’re immediately separated. Yuji tumbles through the sky. A sorcerer with jet-engine hair plows into him, trying to take him by surprise, but he easily knocks her out. Her partner, a sorcerer with helicopter rotors on his head, tries to get the drop on Yuji next. Elsewhere in the Colony, Megumi stops a young woman who also attempted a surprise attack. He tells her to take him to Higuruma. Yuji pulls the rotor-head to the ground, then runs inside to limit their fighting area. Yuji breaks the rotor with a punch before delivering a strong kick to the Player’s sensitive parts. Where’s Higuruma? The other sorcerer agrees to take Megumi where he wants to go if he becomes her knight in return. He agrees to protect her as long as she’s telling the truth. Yuji tries to wake up the sorcerer he took out, but he’s out cold. A teenager approaches from behind and calls out to Yuji by name, who doesn’t recognize him, and says he knows Higuruma. The young man’s name is Rin Amai, and he tells Yuji that they went to the same middle school together. Yuji starts following him to Higuruma. Megumi isn’t like Yuji; he’s willing to kill in the Culling Game. His guide, whose name is Remi, better be telling the truth. She was in the area when the Game began and was forced to immediately become a Player, she says, so she’s already been fighting for twelve days. She never wanted to do this. Yuji and Megumi both stop to ask their guides where Higuruma is. Shinjuku, Remi says. Ikebukuro, says Amai. Which sorcerer is walking into a trap?
